Environmental Conservation for Wildlife and Community Enterprise (ECOWICE) is looking for an experienced, innovative, and results-oriented Program Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for our conservation, community development, climate resilience, and social enterprise programs.

The successful candidate will oversee project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, partnership development, fundraising, and donor reporting while ensuring that projects achieve measurable conservation and community development outcomes. This position requires a dynamic leader with strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with rural communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of ECOWICE programs and projects.
  • Develop annual work plans, implementation schedules, and project budgets.
  • Supervise project staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure activities are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate project monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, donors, NGOs, research institutions, and community stakeholders.
  • Support proposal development, fundraising, and resource mobilization initiatives.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, donor reports, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate community engagement activities, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training programs.
  • Oversee project procurement, asset management, and operational logistics.
  • Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Promote teamwork, innovation, accountability, and continuous organizational improvement.
  • Represent ECOWICE in meetings, conferences, and partner engagements to strengthen organizational visibility and partnerships.
Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing development, conservation, or donor-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and coordinating field operations.
  • Experience in project planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting.
  • Strong proposal writing and resource mobilization skills will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.
