ECOWICE also serves young people who have not had the opportunity to attend college or university and are primarily engaged in destructive activities including charcoal production and illegal hunting. We introduce them to alternative livelihoods, such as training them on how to keep bees, produce honey, and grow mushrooms. These products provide reliable income as honey and mushrooms have multiple harvest cycles throughout the year, offering regular income that can offset their reliance on charcoal production.
