We support low-income farmers

ECOWICE engages with low-income farmers whose land base does not allow them to harvest the quantity of crops needed to sustain their households. In order to grow more crops, these farmers resort to expanding their land into important wildlife areas or using chemicals to increase yields. This is one motivator of deforestation.

 ECOWICE works with these farmers to practice sustainable methods in order to increase yields and profitability in environmentally-friendly ways, such as using organic pesticides and crop planning to increase the number of crops a small land base can support.
